Teams call Basics - How do I use Teams calls?

Pre-requisite: A landline number will need to be assigned to you to receive incoming and make outgoing calls to phone numbers.

If you would like to request a phone number, please submit a ticket to the Service Desk with a use case.

Basic Functions:

Make a call

  1. Select Calls audio call button on the left side of Teams.

  2. Type a name or an external number to call someone.

  3. When you're ready, select Call.

Transfer a call

  1. When you're in a call, on the call controls, Click on Transfer and then select Transfer.
    (If Transfer is nor shown, click on More actions Microsoft Teams more options iconTransfer)

  2. Type in the name of the person (or number) you'd like to transfer the call to, and choose them.

  3. Select Transfer to finish it.

Play a voicemail

  1. Select Voicemail and click on the name or number of the voicemail you want to listen to:

  2. Choose a voicemail to listen to and select Play.

  3. Read a voicemail transcript in the Details pane (if one's available.)
