Frequently Asked Question
I've just received a new mobile - what are the first things I should do?

Once you receive the phone, most things should be set up and ready to go. There are a small number of steps you'll need to perform yourself though.
- remove the plastic wrap from the charger. The charger will get warm during use, and insulating it will shorten the lifespan
- connect to Wi-Fi if possible. Not only will this usually be faster, it'll save using up the mobile data allowance
- open Gmail and enter your password when prompted. This should allow email and contacts to start syncing to your phone after a short delay. You may also wish to tap the banner at the top asking to notify you when new emails arrive, and then allow the app to do so when prompted
- set a PIN of at least 4 digits on the phone. You can use more, but you must secure the handset with a PIN or password. You may also wish to add a fingerprint for ease of use.
- open Teams and sign in
- consider updating your MFA settings to use the Authenticator app on your new handset. This can be done at https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo. Ensure you access this page from your PC, not your mobile phone.
