Frequently Asked Question

I've received a suspicious e-mail. What should I do?
Last Updated 2 years ago

If you receive any message that seems malicious, either a phishing attempt, spam or an outright scam, then please use the Report Message function in Outlook. Reporting malicious messages helps to ensure that they're blocked in the future, and also helps to protect other people who may not be aware the message is malicious.

In the Outlook desktop client, select the message and click the Report Message button at the top right of the screen. Here you can select the category it's being reported as.

In the Outlook web client, select the message, then click on the menu (3 dots) at the top right and select Report Message from the bottom of this menu.

You can also report false positives by selecting the 'Not Junk' option.

Note that even if you suspect a message is a simulation, it should still be reported.
