Updating People Hub desktop shortcut when working remotely

Desktop shortcuts are applied via group policy and changes will only be picked up when connected to the RBGE network. Which means this change can't be pushed to those working remotely.

How do I get the updated shortcut?


Option 1: Bring your computer on site and log in when it is connected to the RBGE network either via Staff WiFi or a wired network connection. Group policy is applied during log in so this will ensure you have the most up to date shortcuts applied.


Option 2: Update the shortcut manually

This can be done by right clicking the existing shortcut on your desktop and selecting properties. On the resulting window update the URL to -

https://myapps.microsoft.com/signin/5762fb38-e364-43f5-b285-324b0e892e3e?tenantId=bb63bb00-175e-46b7-b7b3-bc74158e4fd4

and then click "Apply" to update the shortcut.

Note that People Hub can be accessed via any Microsoft 365 web application (Outlook, Word, etc...) by clicking the apps menu at the top left (the 3x3 grid), then selecting the People Hub icon.
