How to deal with File explorer crashing when offline.
Last Updated 16 days ago

If you’re not connected to the RBGE network or VPN and File Explorer starts to become unresponsive and crash, you may be able to resolve the issue by hiding network drives. To do this, when on the screen below, you may see Network locations with red crosses through them.

Please select the “v” downward facing arrow to the left of “Network locations” in the main window. This will hide all network locations and stop file explorer trying to search for them causing the crash.

If you are unable to see the network locations and file explorer is completely unresponsive, please sign out (don’t just lock the screen) and sign back in again. Once you have signed back in you should be able to see the network locations.
